Default anyone ever used a cm580 cam

im doing a top end on my 98 fatboy . pulled the cam chest to see what cam was in it . its a carls speed shop jims big axle lifters adjustable push rods kb 10.5.1 pistons ported polished heads bigger valve springs looks like 175# 2-1 fat cat mik42 and zipper a/c is this cam to big for my 80" evo. i just bought the bike last summer and wanted to change all the gaskets the previous owner didnt really know anything about the bike any info would help alot .

Interesting question. That's an interesting mix of parts, which suggests either a builder who knew his stuff, or an owner who scattered parts at it. How does it ride? If it rides well then leave it as it is!

If nothing is leaking, leave it alone.....That cam is very similar to a woods w-8 and with the rest of the build sounds likes it's a pretty good match depending on valve sizes. That 80"er should produce 90+ hp and torque. I'm sure it pulls well from 3k on to 5500. If it feels good I wouldn't do anything but maintain it well and ride....

Ya it pulled pretty good. It looked like my front cylinder base gasket was getting bad that's the main reason for doing the top end felt kinda wore out
