Let's not forget the fuel system doesn't require electricity.
That is correct but it still will not run without a battery, On the way home from the East Texas Evo Meet Up on April 4, 2015 the ground cable of my battery broke while I was on the interstate which caused my engine to die. I had to call for my dad to come pick me and my bike up with a trailer because I was stranded.
My bike is a 95 Heritage with a carburetor. Still needs a battery to stay running.
As a matter of fact I started a thread about why my bike still needs a battery to stay running after it is started.
Rode my bike to Home Depot yesterday a guy with a H-D hat came walking up asked what year my bike was. Said 93 Arr just bought a 2015 he said bought it so I can just get on it and ride it. He said don't want to touch a thing for the next 6 years. All i could say was nice I hear ya, I bought mine for the opposite reason love Evo's and being able to wrench it my self. He said Oh thought you just couldn't afford a new one. My answer was really, I'am retired, my home is paid off both cars are got solar which is paid for. If I wanted to throw 30k away I would still have bills, just give me my Evo and I am happy. Just rebuilt the top end and spent 850 bucks Stealer wants 120.00 per hr. for labor here, no thanks.
Two guys on beamers were up top on mt lemmon yesterday. One guy just had his warranty run out and had to replace a electronic self adjusting shock. $2300 bucks. Told him I'd go with struts.
My first HD was purchased in 1999 and I ended up with a y2k softail standard. I always wanted a bad boy... I bought an SG in 06, still wanted a bad boy. Sold my 06 in the fall of 14.. looked at 2015 without any riding plans.. still wanting a bad boy.. Changed jobs and things freed up, time mostly and I bought a 2015 Roadglide March 27 2015, 3 days later was in North Carolina and on the way back heard a nasty noise coming from the trans.. turned out to be the main shaft retaining clip was never seated at the factory...really wanted a bad boy..
Finally last month I found a bad boy! Love it and it was 100% stock with 34k miles. I installed a breather and some pipes.. need to rework the carb and probably do a cam..(I'll take suggestions) but in all honesty I love both.
