Owtlaw were they direct bolt on or did you have to use a bracket? I'll be looking for one for the rear.

Sorry, forgot about the brackets.

I thought I had seen rear adapters as well, but I can't find them right now.

I had gathered all the parts before the motor went TU, so I haven't bolted it all up yet. Perhaps this weekend. If so, I'll post photos.

I think a person can change the gear ratio(s) and stick with the 5 speed.
Milling the heads equalized the volume of the combustion chamber. Due to sloppy manufacturing tolerances, there can be considerable variance in head volume. Because of that, it is possible to have an engine assembled at the factory with heads on each of the scale. In other words a bad combination. Milling the heads not only increased the compression, which is always a good thing on an Evo, it also allowed them to be volume matched, which helps it run smoother. The cam I chose works perfect for how I ride. Since it provides more power at the rpm's I am using it at, the engine isn't working as hard. It eliminates that feeling that the engine is straining and doing all it can. It is kind of difficult to describe. It is not my imagination because a few people have taken my bike for a test ride and came back asking me about why it runs so smooth. It got me what I wanted, really better than expected, without having to go to a six speed or without changing sprockets which would affect launch. A side benefit is it also sounds pretty good, with a deep rumble you can feel in your chest.

I have a pile of brake upgrades that I haven't gotten around to messing with. My Jeep has been occupying my time lately, especially with light upgrades.
