The vibration on the interstate at high speed went away after getting the heads milled along with installation of EV13 cam and a few other things. Prior to that I was considering going to a six speed.
I wouldn't have guessed those things would get rid of the vibs.
I think a person can change the gear ratio(s) and stick with the 5 speed.
But there are a lot of single caliper options out there which people report to be much better than stock and maybe an easier conversion than dual disc.

How much does it cost to have a shop do a dual disc conversion or one of the single caliper options such as the "performance machine caliper"?
I'm guessing I wouldn't be able to do the labor myself. I have a basic hand tool set and don't know a huge amount about mechanics.
Anyone have any idea what it would cost to upgrade to a four or six pot caliper?
I'm not sure what bike you have, but for my '91 FLSTC the PM-0053-2915-CH 4 piston front caliper was $405. Stops a heck of a lot better than the stock caliper. Next will be the rear caliper.

Wrecked, I imagine. Totaling a bike for insurance purposes is pretty easy. Also, I'm sure some folks with the early 4 pots want to go to Brembos, or PMs, or whatever...... We HD guys are never really satisfied.
