Watch this S&S vid, at about 10:00 they will show you the easiest way to shoot the timing, and the way I have done it for years. I find its best to drain the primary though.
the ultima/dyna have all those features but better on the hi-4 all you have is kick or electric start witch means 0 dead rev or 2-3 dead rev on the ultima/dyna you can set the dead rev from 0 to 9
another thing about the hi-4 the voes curve and the normal curve are tied together with one trim pot and you have know idea where your curve is at they are a nightmare to dial in correctly.
So you recommend the Ultima ? I'm not sure what the dead revs are about, never had to mess with this stuff but I know I'm stock and will upgrade eventually. Also, stock is duel fire and single is better to go with?

i will agree for performance the duel fire is just as good as single fire no gain either way.
i only run single fire because it looks cool with 2 separate coils

Ok I'll give you that single fire is prettier.
It is easier to figure out if your coil is bad with a dual though.

dead revolution how many times to motor will turn over without firing. it helps bikes with high lift cams and heavy valve springs to pump the lifters up and clear excess fuel from the cylinders before starting the bike.
kick start is 0 dead rev
electric start is anywhere from 1 to 9
i run a hydro solid lifter so i dont need the dead rev my lifters dont bleed down like stock

Now I understand why you painted your bike orange!

Thanks for explaining that, I was just gonna ask for your response to that, still learning.
