See the build I posted with EV13 cam. It works great and pulls from idle on up.
Just read through your build thread. two years on you still happy with it?

It will be interesting to see how the dyne figures compare with my Bad Boy when I am done.

The Fat Boy will be… EV13 CV carb. Screaming Eagle ignition, Aiming for CR 9.35
The Bad Boy EV 27 Carb, Dyna 2000 i ignition, CR 9.75.

Both running pretty average performing pipes I'm afraid. ( Supertapp Xpipes).

I am happier with it more now actually, after riding in different situations at different speeds and road types. It truly does everything I ask of it and more compared to some builds are so narrowly focused that they only do one thing good. In other words, it has proven itself to me.

I like it so much that this will be the bike I ride until I die or cannot ride anymore, barring something catastrophic happening.

So after a lot of deliberation I ended up putting the ev 13 on my Fat Boy and shaved the heads for a compression bump to 10.1. Jetted the Mikuni to 160 and stuck it on the dyno. with the baffles out I was gettign 84 torque and 82 HP but had a killer flat spot at 2500. With the baffles back in the fuelling was smooth right through the range and ended up with 82 Torque and 84 hp. Actually totally stoked with the way she rides now. Spent the summer up in the mountains around me and she just pulls and pulls up those hills. Fantasitic pick up from almost no revs. And she's almost as quick as my bad boy with the ev27. Have to get rid eof the x pipes as I can feel she has a whole lot more in her for when I fit a pipe that will do her justice. Anyway, thanks for the feedback through this eveyrone.
Here's a pic up the mountains last month

One the best plug and play Evo cams ever designed was the Crane 300-2B. No longer available.
The Andrews 13 is close.
Shy of that we favor the Wood 6 set at 10.0 cr.
Fun in a Dyna, Softail of even a bagger.
Can't even begin to guess how many of those combos we've built.

Well, at least now the heads are done, the wood 6 would just be a drop in...so maybe something to try for next season.

Default Evo Build

Regarding cams, I bought a '98 Dyna Convertible last year, and rode it up to last week before tearing it down for an improvement build. The seller said it had been fitted with a cam as well as a stage 2 kit from the factory, and I noticed it pulled harder than my '96 Softail, which I assume to be stock. It was slightly weaker lower down the rpm band, and stronger from about 2500 up. I thought it had maybe an EV 27 in it. I put it on the dyno before tearing it down, and the numbers were quite impressive for being here at 3600 feet - 70hp, and 78 ft/lbs torque. Well, to my total surprise, out came an EV 51 cam, and stock milled heads measuring at 75cc, giving it around a 9:1 static CR! Meanwhile, I'd already ordered a pair of Screamin Eagle heads, and an ignition module for higher rev limit. So, to make things more worthwhile, I decided to order a pair of Screaming Eagle 10.5:1 pistons as well, installing everything with Cometic .030" head gaskets. Working out the static CR to 10.9:1, corrected CCR to 9.85:1 and cranking pressure on the Big Boyz site calculator, I'm coming up with 185 lbs. My question is: is that going to be too high for the street, necessitating compression releases? Anyone out there have any experience or opinion with that?
