Since Dunlop got rid of their Elite II series I will be going with their American Elites next time.

I like Dunlop because they are American made.

So you like them because they are American made crap? You totally contradicted yourself and confused me all to hell. Or is it just because it's Monday morning and my brain does not want to function properly? LOL

I had been running Dunlops on both my rides until I put Metzlers on my metric recently. What a difference. I will be running Metzlers on the Glide as well when the time comes. I hate how the Dunlops follow cracks and grooves on the road surface.

I'm going to blame Monday, the way I understood him he said the Stock Dunlop tires are junk, not the American Elites.

I am very satisfied with the American Elites I put on my bike. The stock Dunlops that were on the bike when I bought it would follow ever crack, not the American Elites they go where I want the bike to go.

He said it better than I did.
Sorry for the confusion.

You chaps can always buy Avon Tyres - made with love and care in the UK - by an American owned company (Cooper Tires). There - best of both worlds - they just need to improve their spelling.......

I almost bought a set of Avon Cobra's when I bought my tires. I am a huge Coooper Tire fan, I just was worried about how long they would last and couldn't find any good information in that regard.

I have to confess that mileage only bothers me if it is bad! I've used Avon Venoms for many years, but usually change them well before they get to their last legs. I only have one Cobra at present and haven't ridden it far yet (they are fairly recently introduced). Avons do however give excellent grip in all weathers, especially heavy rain, are very stable and give a great compliant ride. Well worth a try!

Always good to know. I look forward to hearing how your Cobra serves you in the future. I am very happy with my American Elites so far. The rear has 2500 miles on it and still looks like new.

HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!
I would be scared that the tires would have me on the wrong side of the road and I would start liking warm beer!!!!!!!!!!

On a serious side I knew someone that Avons were all that he would run on his bike.
He said that you could climb walls (maybe a little exaggeration) they stuck so well but he did say they didn't last long.

IMO if it is a choice between gripping the road and longevity I will take grip every time!!!!!!!
Tires are cheaper than Doctors bills!!!!
