Default Replace 1985 Fuel Tank

Looking for a replacement for the stock 1985 FLHTC gas tank. Don't want a stretched look just a more rounder look. Any ideas and thoughts you guy have would be great.

Thanks

Look around [especially in the Shovelhead section] for the "T" conversion to Road King type...
Not that Hard really...Look pretty good too, since the RK is nothing but a redo of the original FLHS!!

The tank used on the following models, including my 1990 FLHS, is more rounded than the earlier flat-sided style and should be the easiest to adapt. If you're a glutten for punishment you could always try one of the latest 6 gallon tanks, which can be persuaded to fit, as long as you don't have the c/v type carb!

Well the 6 gallon is out because I hate punishment and I am putting a CV carb on. But i will be looking for a early 90's style tank...

I just looked at JP Cycles and there are many to choose from for your bike.

You can put just about any newer touring tank on there without much trouble. The front mount has not moved since the shovel days...I have a newer street glide tank on my 83...had to drill one hole and use a carb petcock adapter, since it was a fuel injected tank...I welded a nut to the frame for the rear mount...but you could use a rivet-nut.
