don't know myself, but looking at the 05 carb bikes, the part number for the tank is an 03.
so it may or may not fit...possible you can do a test fit.
otherwise you are really just looking at plugging a hole and adding a petcock

Further to Mike's point, you can get a petcock conversion from Pingel for your current tank, which includes the necessary blanking plug. Why do you want a different tank?
