Yeah I forgot about those early years.
Didn't the Wide Glides and others all go rubber mounted around '87?

Actually they discontinued the Wide Glide completely after 1986.
In the mid 90's they introduced the Dyna Wide Glide. Completely different animal.

Thanks for the update.
While I have worked on a couple of the early EVO's I didn't really pay attention to the different models.

Update: took it for a test ride and the bike still vibrates but not as bad. Still feel it in my two front teeth. But much more manageable.

Is the top motor mount OK? You'll probably have to get down on the left side and look up under the tank to see it.

Thanks for the ideas. I'm definitely going to go the easier route before going to the clutch hub. I'll keep you all updated

Thats a good way to approach what your going after. I'm the guy THC mentioned with the clutch hub. KP went through more than I did trying to get the vib to a point he could live with. I was able to find several EVO's to ride between friends, a couple indy,s I know well and test ride a few while I was considering clunking the one I have off a bridge. All of them had some level of vib around 1800-2000 rpm. Mine just happened to be bad enough to blurrr the gauges from 1600- around 2400 rpm. And forget using the HWY pegs above 3000 rpm in 4th 0r 5th gear.

Lots of things to ck before ya go after a clutch hub unless you happen to be in the there. From what i have read and talked about my situation was an extreme rarity. I'm just thankful that that I got pointed in the right direction and was able to find someting I could point a finger at and know it wasn't right

My clutch hub had a spun bearing. It was pretty bad. Wasn't it though. I did the inner primary bearing too. Didn't matter. I found lots of bad things but nothing was it. Even leaking valves and severely worn cam and lifters.
