I think the integrated tachometer is a GREAT idea.......
Let me offer some unsolicited advice from experience. You may have noticed my tach is the bottom half of my speedometer.
It's a HORRIBLE location - don't even be tempted to look down at it while going through the gears... to see it you can't glance (on mine, and yours is much worse), you have to focus on it to tell where it is, and that's WAY too long to have your eyes away from the road while at WOT. You glance down right at the moment a deer decides to cross the road. It works that way. No bueno.
I think it's actually dangerous. The police tach location on top of the risers is a much better location, at least that's at the bottom of your field of vision.
My Vette has a heads up display which is great, it would be cool to have that on your helmet visor...if I wore a helmet with a visor! lol

Great point! I guess I'm going to STOP looking at it altogether in about 130 miles (left on break in).
Actually, since I'm familiar with the engine sound, I'm not paying too much attention now.....
Have you ever tried NOT exceeding 3k rpms? It's a pain........

Oh I see why you were looking at it. Well, look at it this way. Just do the best you can. Harleys didn't have tachs for years and they go 100k miles pretty regularly!! I think its better to just not rap it out in the first 500. I"m totally sure just short shifting and NOT lugging the engine is all you need to do and it'll live a good long live.
Now here's a question that will fill up pages of comments....lol
Are you going to change your oil after the first 500 or just run it?
