What did you wind up doing THC. It looks like you got the 111" Long Block. http://www.sscycle.com/product/V-Ser...ls-p25727.html

I was talking to my Indy today and he recommended going with the 80" Long Block versus doing a complete rebuild since you don't know what you'll find when you split the cases on a '91 Evo. But for $845 more you can get the 111" Long Block.

Due to damage during shipping I sent it back.
I'm now considering putting in an 89" stroker kit.

Sucks it got damaged. I've heard good things about the 89" strokers.

What a story. Yet another victory for the moron army who are taking over our lives. They who never have to pay for the disappointments, nor the hours or days they take out of our lives. I have no idea what's going wrong with people these days. Fried brains, could not care less, all integrity thrown out the window.

So sorry.

Are you going S&S or T&O TorqueMonster on the stroker?

S&S..

I'm also tempted to just put in a hotter cam and see what happens.
I already have 9.5-1 KB pistons and port and flowed heads.

You didn't ask my opinion but that's exactly what I'd do if the itch for more power strikes me.

I should say when, not if.

I've been putting cams in cars for years and I've researched this a fair amount as I've considered a cam in my Harley. Since you already have higher compression and ported heads, your cam is the bottleneck and it'll be a nice mod for you.

Tell us what your riding style is and how fast you cruise.

In my case, I ride pretty hard because traffic around me runs 80+ where I ride (speed limit is 70 and I ride out in the Everglades). That's about 3000 rpm cruise on my bike (same as my Evo). And I take it up WOT though the gears to 70 at least once every time I ride, normally more than one time.

Personally I'd decided to go EV 27 or comparable in the TC world. If I was drag racing I'd go bigger but I learned from hard experience that too big a cam makes a lousy driving machine as you lose bottom end. And, if you buy a cam that only kicks in at 4500+ you only have 1000 rpm until redline on a Harley.

What cam did your head porter recommend?

Cam theory for larger capacities is something I understand nothing about.

Manufacturers tend to recommend cam much later intake closing (hence losing bottom end) and I don't know why. Presumably 'fill' has something to do with it, but I've never read it explained. Higher lift would be on my shopping list.

I'd like to know what an early intake closing but a higher lift cam would do.
