Would there be any benefit to loosening the two trans to engine mounts now then retorquing? To relieve any stress that may be on the ring. . I have a feeling this wasn't my last time with the inner off if that lip starts leaking.
1: Yes, it's a good idea.
2: Then take it apart and do it properly this time would be my advice...
Loosened and retightened the trans to engine bolts. Will be watching for leaks no. If that ring is leaking I guess I'll see it fairly quickly. I didn't see signs of it leaking when I pulled it apart. Only the jackshaft and the ipb seal. I was more concerned with the stress on it or reason for the crack.
My luck, wouldn't wish it on anyone. 30 minutes into ride clutch lets go. Pull the lever to come to a stop and it pops to the bar, no clutch. Luckily nothing in front of me and the guy behind me was observant enough to not hit me as I continued straddling the yellow line downshifting and chirping the tire as I got to first and limped back home. Missed my turn didn't want to lock up the brakes and stall it out.
First time I've had time to get it out since back together. Go figure. Back apart it comes. I really believe it hates me and I need to trade it in.

Any idea what happened? Didn't put something back together right? Break the clutch cable? It happens.
Pulled the cover. Found this all unscrewed. Went to tighten it and the c clip popped out and something shot across the floor. It's jammed the adjuster will not go in and the cable has about two inches of slack. I have no idea what went wrong. Something broke. So f-g annoyed. I guess I have to pull the trans cover and check the clutch cable on that side? Not even sure anymore. It was shifting and running just fine. Edit... I see what shot across the floor now. The clutch piece that holds the clip in. Mother F-r I give up. Anyone want a low rider.
