From what I've read I have an exhaust that kills bottom end performance: V&H short shots. They look nice but I'm not happy with the performance. Would a set of the torque cones that go in the head pipe help? I know 2 into 1 are supposed to perform the best but I don't like the look or sound. I have a set of Bassani pro streets I could put on but they don't look as good condition wise as these short shots. Would the torque cones help the Bassani pipes? The bike came with the short shots an I don't have a set of stock pipes to use with slip ons. there's a 2 into 1 about 2 hours from me for sale cheap, I'm just not sure I'd like the look an sound. Here's what I'm looking at to help with low end power with either set of pipes:
Cones are a Placebo...Originally intended to make 2" pipes "sort of work".
A small bit of research reveals that the stock cross-over staggered duals with free flowing mufflers is only Bested by a Thunderheader...Anything else , maybe excepting the RB Racing pipe...Maybe, Is just throwing $$ into the wind...Now...If yer racing...I mean WFO or Nothing...Some interesting pipes can be Developed...I see it all the time. One thing I don't see...At the Track, nor on the street really working well...is Cones....
If ya like 'em...Run 'em...Don't go making Wild Claims about 'em tho...
Nah!!! Don't be like that...You stated you believe in them...that's OK...
And...You made No wild claims about cones...I was Rash to Imply such...
No Rude! I apologize for insinuating that you did so.
If they work on your Bike...good on ya...I can say that in my experience you would be a Minority...but...hell I have run the dreaded Ka-Sneeze Carburetors without problems, and I get upset that folks won't learn to tune a Ka-sneeze, but will slave laboriously over an S&S...
all Bikes are different. Thankfully
I figured some would have good results an others maybe not...just seeing what peoples experiences are. I put the V&H up on craigslist for sale or trade for a stock or other quiet system. I read the stock pipes with aftermarket mufflers work well an that the bassani's perform well for a drag pipe set up.
Just trying to get a feel for what others have experienced. Thanks.

I'm at the point where I don't like the sound of aluminum engines with drag pipes..Just sound loud...not Throaty..actually a bit "tinny".
So...I like a good , all around, street manners that makes power, kind of pipe...
Soon as ya think yer bike sounds "bad azz", Go to the Harley Drags and stand behind a Fueler...No...No Gas bike sounds like that....
