Wix is one of the big manufacturers that supplies quality filters under many names.
They have been in the bizz for a long time.
Oh and the 57348 (chrome),57148 (black) is the equivalent of the HD Premium 5,very nice piece.
Cheers.

Gosh, I've only been running a Toyota oil filter or a Supertec (private label at Walmart, GUESS WHO MAKES IT? GUESS WHO MAKES YOUR HD FILTER?) for the past 80K miles and 29 years. Oh, wait, I did have 3 HD filters on it in that time. So, what's gonna happen?

But, the old Shovel only has about 50k trouble free miles on..
And the '74?? lost track of Miles Long ago...
I bet that Shovel didn't run "motorcycle" branded oil when it was new. And most likely had "chevy six" points at one time or another.

The MoCo says that the twin cam filter can be used on Evo and Shovelhead engines.

I have been using twin cam filters on my `89 Evo for years, no oil out the breather or any other malady that is talked about on the forums.

The oil pump on my engine has over 140,000 miles on it.

I run a K&P reusable oil filter because it looks cool and is fun to play with, works good too.

Amazon.com: K&P S4 Reusable Billet Oil Filter for Harley Davidson Chrome: Automotive Amazon.com: K&P S4 Reusable Billet Oil Filter for Harley Davidson Chrome: Automotive

You can get them for a lot less than at Amazon but they have good pictures of this beauty if ya wanna take a look.
