Thanks TD and the same to you chaps from the ole Country.
I just made an interesting discovery about Thanksgiving. The English Pilgrim Fathers first fled England to escape Catholicism, and settled in Protestant Holland. Several years later Holland was threatened with invasion by the Spanish (you guessed - Catholics!), so some of them set off for North America. They had to change ships in England, to the Mayflower, because their first ship had sprung a leak.
Not long after they left the Spanish were defeated and so the Dutch nation celebrated their good fortune with a Thanksgiving. Other English settlers from Holland who followed their relatives later took the ceremony with them, so Thanksgiving is Dutch in origin! Some of the English preferred to stay in Holland and their descendents are alive and well today - also very Dutch!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you "BIRD-BRAINS" !!! And I to will be surrounded by in-laws tomorrow, thank god for alcohol...(bloody Mary as I write this, getting prepped) LOL🍺🍻🍹🍸🍷🍼🐓
