so is the pingle petcock really $100 better than the old school harley petcock. Ill get it if it is but damn they are proud of them.
J&P has a replacement, stock style petcock (probably imported) for under $20.
Or you can get a Pingel for around $120.
Personally, when it comes to stuff like this, I'm a "do it once, do it right" kind of guy. I honestly don't know if the Pingel is worth the extra $100 or so, but having just installed one myself, I will say that it looks and feels like a piece of jewelry compared to the stocker. Maybe the cheapo J&P replacement unit would work just fine too. Who knows.
The Pingel looks good and every time I think of it, I'm reminded of potato chips, so what's not to like?

I figured if im already dropping all of this dough, i may as well get the best petcock i can. Pingel it is.
No, But I would and did. There will be a setting on your ignition to use with or without the VOES. Using the VOES can cut down on pinging issues. All the advice I received when I did my conversion said to use one.

Agreed and I'm a cheap old bastard. If you ever have to dig your pliers out of your tool pouch to turn the fuel on to get yourself home with a hot engine and hoping it doesn't break off, you'll never cheap out again. Mine was the pretty chrome one by Arlen Ness. Lesson learned.
Amazon has the needed Pingel for $96.04 and free shipping.
