Look for a Night Train
I recently became aware of the 1999 Night Train model softail. I think that it is a beautiful machine and I want one. I have seen a couple for sale in the region, but the owners think that it is still 1999 judging from the prices listed.
I have an 84 softail and had been searching for an 84 Wide Glide to purchase. 84 was the last year that Harley put Shovel heads in Wide Glides. If I had one, I would have two of the most awesome rides Harley ever made as well as having the end of one era and the beginning of another.
Finding unmolested Wide Glides of any year (80-86) is very difficult and when I have found one, the owners seem to think that they were made of gold.
If I had a 1999 Softail, I would have the beginning and end of the best era in Harley history. So, my questions are these:
How common are unmolested 1999 softails and what would be a reasonable price for both parties? Presume 85%+ original condition and less than 50,000 actual miles on a factory original motor. Night train is preferred, but a standard model will do just as well.

I wouldn't call this unmolested but not too bad a price but it ain't a Shovelhead either.
