New here,
Current situation. I have a 91 electra glide ultra classic. The owner before me replaced the gauges with electronic gauges rather than cable driven. Nothing is hooked up, and wires cut everywhere. My question ia what to do. Cant afford new guages.
I checked searial numbers on that gauge and it seems like early 2000s touring model. Do i have to buy new gauges or is there a way to make what i got work, or do i have to buy new ones. I know that original speedo is cable driven, just dont know enough about it.
Does it have the original fairing or does it have a newer fairing...matters a lot on what your options are.
Honestly i dont know. First bike ive owned with a fairing. Im not sure what original inner fairing looks like. It has the 6 seperate gauges, rather than speedo and tach together in the box.
Sorry, extremely new to dressers.
Yeah, sounds like a new fairing. Just pick a gauge, look at the schematic for your bike, find the wire that should run to it and hook it to that gauge. Go to the next gauge.

Thank you. Looking at the mess of wires it looks like quite the challenge. Cant wait to get gauges and get started. Still unsure about the speedo. I now know i need 96 and newer gauges, but would i order a speedo cable for a 91, or for whatever year gauge i get, as long as the speedo drive is off the axel?
