Default fluid am't for 95 softtail fat boy

Just got a friends HD to clean up (change fluids, charge battery) for sale. Really unfortunate, he's got pancreatic cancer and is on his way out. I've ridden with him before, so as a good friend, I told him I'd go thru it and get it ready. The reason I'm on this forum (I belong to it because I got a 07 Low Rider), is to find out how much oil it'll take, how much tranny fluid, and how much primary fluid. It's got 13K miles on it !!!!! For a 95, damn, not too many. Bags, been camed out and tranny has been re-done to get it to cruise at highway speeds really comfortably. It's still 80 Cu in. New pushrods....Al rims. We're hopeing to get 5-6 K for it. Any help would be appreciated

Close to my service manual but mine says 4qts for engine. I guess 4 is right if you change filter too. May be just a touring thing too.

Touring bikes have a 4 quart system, Softails are only 3 (with a filter change). One reason why I change my oil every 2500 miles. Less oil doing more work in the Softails.

With the bike straigt, the correct oil level is about a half inch below the bottom of the filler neck.

If you pour 3 quarts in, you better have some rags nearby...

My Softail usually takes 2.8-2.9 quarts with a filter change. But then, I run my oil level at the bottom of the filler neck with the bike upright. Running the oil much lower just increases running temperature and oil consumption IME.

Primary is supposed to be filled to about 1/4 inch above the lower edge of the clutch spring plate, with the bike upright and level. I've never measured the amount, because I fill to the level specified, but it takes considerably more than a quart, maybe 40-44 ounces.

Transmission, I measure out 24 oz. and fill. Brings the level to the midpoint on the dipstick.

In case you're wondering, front forks take 11.5 oz. in each leg.
