If your foot shifter is wobbling around on your shifter shaft and tightening up the bolt doesn't work then the teeth are worn.
You can either get new parts or you can take a small piece of a beer/soda can and put it in between the foot shifter and the shifter shaft.
The second is only a temp fix but it does work for a while.
The shifter is tight on the gold coloured teeth onto which it clamps.
It is actually wobbling inside the foot peg bracket.
You know the shifter shaft goes through the foot peg bracket. This is where it's loose. Like the hole in the bracket is a lot bigger than the shifter shaft.

Does this make sense lol?
Yes it does.
Going back to your first link if tightening part 5 doesn't work then the teeth are worn out.
Either new parts or make a shim (that will go between the foot peg bracket and the shifter shaft) out of a beer/soda can.
Sorry it took me so long to figure out what you were talking about.
All I can say is it's early here and my brain ain't woke up yet!!!LOL
actually had a thought it could either be a worn shifter shaft or the hole in the footrest support could be worn and enlarged or a combination of both dam!!
Probably the best idea. either that or a nylon one?
Personally I think it's the worst one.
They made the shifter and shifter shaft out of steel for a reason.
Neither brass nor nylon will stand up for long.
Bronze will last. Maybe not 20 years but i bet you'll get a Good 10 years out of it....Why do you think they used them for pilot bushing for the input shaft on the older chevy standard transmissions...

We're not talking about a bushing here.
From what I'm understanding is the teeth on his shifter lever are not biting down on the teeth of the shifter shaft causing his shift lever to wobble.
Drilling the teeth out of his shift lever and putting in a bronze bushing isn't gonna help.
