I am putting a set of bars and stainless cables on my 98 FLHRCI. I bought LA choppers bars and a set of matching stainless cables that are also LA Choppers. When I started to install them this afternoon I noticed that the throttle cables do not match the OEM ones. One of the new lines fits correctly but the other one has a split in the middle and a place to plug in a electrical plug. I'm thinking it mite still work but would like to be sure. Any suggestions?
Thanks. I figured it would work but didn't want to F... it up and not be able to return.
I should have read my manual before I started because I haven't changed a clutch cable before either and now I have the hole bike apart and not sure I would have tackled that project if I would have checked first.
It's not that big of a deal. Get a new clutch cover gasket, and take your time. Make sure you don't lose any of the bearings. They tend to hit the floor running and disappear.
