Default Difference between 97 and 98 Dyna Wide Glide?

Hello again my friends,

Is there a difference (besides year) between the 97 and 98 Dyna wide glide? I am look at a low mileage 97. Just not sure if there is a difference?

Hello Loose in LA and welcome. I use to live on 165 street next to Ventura Hwy.
I don't know of any difference's but I love my 97 FXDWG. Either yr will serve you well.

Your bike... or bikes are amazing. I live Downtown. From Huntington Beach originally.

Thanks for the reply.

I just have the silver one, Smokey.
My hang out was a couple miles north of Huntington, Hermosa beach.

I have very few memories from my Hermosa Beach drinking days. Place would get a little crazy.

As far as the differences there's a wiki page or something with all the various changes listed out by year. I believe the 98 has the newer style clutch basket used on 98 and newer bikes and an easier pull clutch lever. I'll see if I can find the link. I read it a few years ago when I bought my 98.

Yep Hermosa was the original Twilight zone and that was in the daylight hours.
