new stator no voltage
I was using DC setting. I will try AC, but i don't think my multimeter cares, as i was measuring 12.6 DC volts on battery terminals. Start the bike and rev it up, the multimeter reads 12.4 DC volts.
I will definitely check the plug on the primary using AC settings tonight.
A bad regulator is what killed my stator in the first place, that has been replaced.
Do rotors go bad? When i pulled mine a noticed my alan wrenches stuck to the magnets, so I think that indicates the rotor is not bad, but I don't know. Electrical systems are a mystery to me.

Trust me your multimeter cares..it really really cares

Let us know what you find.

By who??

Yes rotors can go bad but that means damage to the magnets.
The 12.6 v at rest and 12.4v while running only means your charging system isn't working and has nothing to do with what your multimeter
the multimeter indicates 18 or 19 when set to AC, so i think that is ok
while examining the wiring I noticed the wire from the regulator to the back fender is a dangling, mangled mess making contact with nothing but blacktop.
I'm going to splice a piece of wire in tomorrow night and see if that does the trick. when i installed the regulator i must not have gotten the frame clips back on right.
