Don't think that thought hasn't crossed my mind!

Most of the trip we will be cruising down Nebraska State Highway 2 through the Sandhills. That is about as lonely a road as you'll find.

I'm encouraged by the parts that did come in. That Russell stuff looks like jewelry.

I like the Russell brakes on my bike now. Too bad they don't make a +8" version.

Is there any way to remove just the upper brake line from the junction block? It seems like it would make sense to be able to just change the upper line but Russell has the worst website on the internet for getting anything resembling useful information.

Yes the upper line is replaceable. Ive had my Russell lines in for about a year now. Still rock solid. And no yellow tarnishing yet either. Unlike my motion pro throttle cables. I think they were turnimg yellow before i even got em on. For the russells i had to buy an oem replacement kit then change out the upper line to accommodate new bars. Well worth it.

I suppose anything is possible, but they are permanent crimp connections on the stocker. Would take some surgery.

Right now as things stand, I have my banjos and the upper and lower lines. What I don't have is the splitter that mounts under the triple clamp and connects it all together.

Fustercluck at the warehouse. When we ordered this on Friday, they showed inventory in Wisconsin. Turns out they didn't have any, so they shipped it out of New York...which means it won't get here until Thursday. No good.

So we re-ordered it out of Las Vegas for next day (tomorrow) delivery. I also decided to order some additional longer lines in case my fitment is off. It's impossible to tell until I see exactly what the splitter looks like and how far the leads on it extend. That's all coming tomorrow.

My deadline on this is causing me to run up some expedite charges and restocking fees, but I'm encouraged that this is coming together.

At least with the brake parts still on the way I can spend tonight getting the tourpak and all the rest bolted back together. The exhaust is still hanging loose, the trans needs to be topped off, etc.

Looks good. Spray it with clear coat so it won't rust.

Should have mentioned, I have Russell brake lines already. I can only assume that the junction is Russell as well.

In that case then yes, you should be able to get a longer upper hose and leave rest alone. When I go to 22" apes, that's what I'm going to do.

Got everything else put back together. The TourPak has never been so solid. Also had the chance to remove the un-used antenna wire going to the back. That was bugging me. Wasn't thinking and wiped down the exhaust shields with a rag I had used to wipe up some trans fluid. Stunk and smoked like crazy when I fired it up to test for leaks.

If my parts come in in the morning, and if everything fits, just might make it.
