Your bike turned out great! That thing looks and sounds right. Even if you're into it for more than you bargained for, looks like a winner from here.
Thanks Omaha! It sounds right and feels right.

The build was done by Kevin Baxter at Pro Twin Performance and it was done right. The wrinkle black powder coating was done at Miller's Powder Coating in Lilburn, GA. Miller's did the heads, cylinders, lifter blocks, cases and inner primary housing. Getting a good ride in this weekend ... hitting the mountains.
Just wondering, how's that Darkhorse Crankworks balanced crank working out in that Evo Softail?
I ask because I've had two (going on 3) cranks balanced from them, one being a 1996 Sportster, and while it did feel a little smoother, it wasn't night-n-day like I thought it would have been.
Cool. I've got my latest Evo crank going to Darkhorse once I get the pistons/rings/wristpins back from Hammer for a balance and true. Of course, it's going in a bagger so it's rubbermounted, but I like smooth mirrors. And, I may sell the bike but keep the motor for an Evo softail build.
That's a miracle for a rigidmount. I talked to a guy at a gas station with an early 90's Heritage and he said his hands fall asleep in about 15 min on the interstate. Granted he had some 18" apes on his bike (which for some damn reason is SOOOOO popular out here in LA) but vibes just the same.
Wow Tony, I never saw this thread about the crank and to add more pain the fire. I remember that one... Really felt bad for you... The rebuild really must have made a huge difference in your smile... I'm glad that the last year and a half have treated you well. Ride Safe Brother and Merry Christmas.....

Merry Christmas to you too Bob!
I'm happy with the work Darkhorse did. The bottom end is smooth!
The engine fire did suck, but that was from a leak in a braided oil line. Happened 800 miles after the motor rebuild. She's been back on the road since.
Well after almost 2 years she's still running great. I have the chance to get it dyno tuned this weekend at a local shop here in Buford. See if they can tweak it a little and what it's putting out.
