Default IDing a leak

So I could have sworn I had a inner primary leak, went through and replaced all the seals, as well as the main, quad, and 5th gear seal on the transmission. Got everything back together and went for a ride, still leaking....

Since everything was cleaned up from the rebuild, I went back through and started looking again. I found oil that almost looks like it's coming out from under the pushrod covers, leaking down the the side of the engine where the lines from the oil filter just happen to touch the engine, and take that path to the bottom of the bike.

Is it possible for oil to leak from these covers? I'm getting probably a tablespoon of oil leaking every time I park after a ride.

**These are the lines running to the oil filter, not fuel filter....**

FWIW, my front lifter block worked its way loose a while back. Leaked like the devil.

Snugged up the bolts (both blocks) and discovered three of the bolts were seriously loose. One took a good half turn to get to spec, the other two a good quarter turn+. Been fine since.

Same as dealing with a fat girl= clean it up, sprinkle with talcum powder and look for the wet spots.

Yes.
Look for the highest and most forward wet spot and that is most likely your leak.

Or you can do as Beemervet said and be sure about where the leak is coming from.

It's either the lower pushrods seal or the lifter block gasket from the look of your pics

Thanks all! I think for sure that's where my leakis, I'm not doing the job twice so I'm going to go ahead and replace the blocks themselves, plus I want to replace those cheasy chrome covers.

Are the JP Cycles blocks good? http://www.jpcycles.com/product/4300366

I have solid pushrods and I'm not pulling the rocker boxes, so I need new pushrods. Looking at the JP Rods and the S&S rods, any preference here? I see the later model engines come as kits with new orings, covers, ect... but these don't. Is there a kit that has all the orings and covers for the easy install pushrods?

That is overkill but since you are replacing the lifter blocks (unnecessary IMO) can I have your old ones?

Why do you want new covers??
Are the old ones cracked??

When going with adjustable pushrods I prefer S&S as they are thicker and stronger than most others.

Get Cometic AFM gaskets for your lifter blocks.
They just work better IMO.

Don't buy a damn thing until you clean it dry and find the leak.

well, go to the dollar store and buy a spray bottle of Mean Green $5 to clean it.

The wind will blow oil in places no where near the leak.

Don't I know that! Two years ago I thought I had a leak between the cases as well as the gear case cover. Turned out I had a blown fork seal on the right fork leg. You wouldn't believe where wind can blow oil.
