Is anyone running the two-piece gas caps on their bike, they have the insert that you tighten then the cap screws into that... paint protection basically.

My left one (righty-loosey) needs a pipe wrench with a cloth to remove in hot sun even when ONLY tightened enough to touch the o-ring seal.

Anyone else with this problem ???

 

Mine can get stubborn at times so what i do now is a little Vaseline on the rubber seal and no more issues...

 

It seems as the thread swells so I've tried everything on the thing and dry graphite spray works best every other fill up.
Sucks if I'm at the gas station and can't get both off...

 

Got tired of the Rattle of the stock gas caps ...purchased the flush mount pop up style and like stated above ...used a little lube on the gaskets ....a WHOLE LOT BETTER '!!!

 

Yeah, those are real nice, but I paid $80. For mine and would like to get some more use out of them, I have boxes of parts just building up already... LOL...
