It all depends on how adept you guys are at mechanicals. If you have basic mechanical skills and expertise, and if the stock Keihin carburetor is sound, and if the engine is not a big-bore monster...then rebuilding the stock 40mm carburetor will be the most cost-effective. It will also provide great performance. You can spend more on a new carb if one or more these criteria are not met, or you simply want to try something else...but it's not necessary.

Take it apart. Clean it. Evaluate its condition. Order what you need from CV Performance. Ask questions, adapt the carb to your needs, e.g., jet-size, etc.
