Who needs a front fender? Just sit off to the side a bit when it rains. Let us know the differences in center to center distance between the two trees. I'm curious to see how this goes.
Unless there is a major difference in the space between the lower legs when assembled why wouldn't it? Are fxst legs that much different in terms of dimensions for where the axle sits? If the lowers, wheel, and axle are a hair further apart you may just need a hair bigger spacer on each side.
that is exactly what I am thinking. The wrench in the scenario is the front wheel mounted speedo drive. I am believing that the only difference in axels between a fatboy and standard is the length due to the narrower trees by a small amount.
In which case it should fit. I don't feel like moving my speedo drive to the trans because I would then need to change my speedo to electronic and I don't want to mess with the rear wheel mounted drives. Like I said this is kind of an experiment because I want the fork covers and less rake to the tree. I would also like to run the fairing that I have which is why I need the fatboy trees instead of the shovel trees that I have that accept fork covers due to the headlight mount position on the fatboys. If that makes sense
Just to update on what I was able to source up today:
Got all new seals and stuff for the actual rebuild
Ordered new stock length fatboy tubes 22 7/8
And I got a top tree
Still need to find a bottom tree which I might have a new lead on from the fellas at chopcult. If that doesn't pan out i might just order a new vtwin repop
I have a nacelle but I don't have any of the stainless side covers if anybody is holding a stainless set they want to get rid of

Scored some triple trees from my chopcult lead. Now I will have two top trees. Haha. Oh well sometimes it ends up like that. Tubes and trees should be here early this week.
Going to take my toddler and hop on up to jpcycles quick and grab some incidentals for final assembly
Triple trees arrived today. When I am off on Wednesday I am going to take a ride up to my buddies shop to press on the bottom bearing and dust cover. Then I need to get a stem bolt and washer
Tubes should be here tomorrow evening. Waiting on springs still. Those haven't shipped yet from j&p
