Default Working on the new front end and a question

Did some polishing today on the lowers and took it all apart

Now here is the question. I have been toying with the idea of using fatboy triple trees with the standard softail lower legs (fxst). Can I use the same Axel if I want to still run a 21 or will I have spacing issues?

Are you using the original hub laced to a 21? You might have to just see if it fits.

Yes the original fxst rim and hub. Basically the only thing that would be fatboy would be the tubes and trees

Is the distance between the center of the tubes the same if you measure the trees? Can you line the two top trees up and see if they are off a little? You might have to just see if it works.

It all depends on the holes in the trees.
If they are the same distance apart center to center then you should be fine.
If the fatboy trees are slightly wider then you will have spacer issues.

I can't line up the trees because I don't have the fatboy trees yet. I am still trying to find a used set at a decent price

Coincidentally I did a couple days ago. And I tried panheadcity in Georgia. I found a couple of sets on eBay but they want over two bills just for the trees. And I want the black lower tree like they are stock

Are your tubes 41 mm? Fatboy trees are for 41 mm..... I have a stock lower laying around some where. If I can find it I'll measure the centers. And you can have it if you want. I'll never use it.

Most likely you will have spacing issues but it's nothing you can't fix.

Question is do you have the proper axle for a fatboy front end?

That would be amazing! I do have tubes now but they are standard softail length not the 22 7/8 for the fatboy but I was going to buy new ones. A buddy of mine who owns a Harley shop specializing in old Harleys just texted me that he has a top clamp so that bottom would be awesome 98hotrodfatboy

I have a set of shovel trees but I need the headlight mount on the bottom tree and not like the shovel ones have
