Hi everyone now that I got my fatboy running great looking to make it mine. I am looking for 12 or 14 inch apes especially burly I see the narrow bars are priced lower does anyone have an older soft tail with narrow bars do they look too small if anyone does a pic would be great thanks.
I'm looking at new bars for my 99 fatboy...the stockers are fairly comfortable to me I could just get some 4" risers but I want a new look.....I don't really want to extend all those wires either so I'm lookin at "mini apes" or Z bars with 6-8" of height. besides my shoulder couldn't tolerate much height.

FWIW 16" apes lowered the pain in my right shoulder.
About 15 years ago I broke the collarbone in my right shoulder in 2 places and the middle piece rotated and when it healed my right collarbone is about 1" shorter than my left one.
After that whenever I rode in the cold I would get a severe cramp between my right scapula and my spine.
Since installing the 16" apes the cramp is much better. It still causes minor pain but it is way better than it used to be.
THC I've read where it's helped peoples back pain with the posture change but I've had a shoulder repair an tendinitis in both shoulders an elbows so hand position an shoulder height is important to me...my elbows seem to like my hand rotated 30-45 degrees so no more drag bars either.....

One of these years I'll have to make a trip to Ohio so you can try out my set up.
After what it did for me I think it would help you.
Wish going to Texas would help we all need to go anywhere off the map. I went ahead and ordered 14 inch apes from burly my riser is 8 inches that isn't factory is it?
