Good day,
I've recently acquired a FXRT. I'd like to fix a few things, and have come here to ask before my OEM Manual arrives.
- The radio doesn't work- Is the relay/fuse behind the head unit?
- The windshield gasket was deteriorating, what is commonly used to replace it?
- I have the optional light pods installed. Are the wires just run through the air vents? I'd like to remove them.
- What would be the best way to remove the FXRD exhaust?

The gasket between the windshield and the dash can be replaced with any foam, rubber, neoprene sheet of the correct thickness to keep it nice and snug. Craft store maybe?
The light pods are FXRP pursuit pods. You either have a 'P fairing mounted, or somebody has retrofitted 'P pods to a 'T fairing. The bulbs are held in by the rubber ring. Pop them out and have a look behind. Removal should look pretty straightforward.
That exhaust looks like a 2-1. I think the FXRD exhaust was a 2-2 with no crossover, as opposed to the 'T and 'P exhaust that had the crossover, and actually performs better due to it.

My picture wasn't great before- But here is the RD exhaust.
Ya gotta give me a bit to clean it up- Its been so cold here everything just freezes.

I'll have to rejet- And hopefully and find why my (stock) carb is leaking at the same time.

Fixed!
I've decided to remove the FXRP light pods, and see exactly what was behind. Boom, too easy. I'm digging this way more.
Also, I've wanted to take the bag guards off- Left side is giving me some real problems- rounded off the nut on the top- I'll be going out with a hammer and chisel to try and knock it loose.
Can anyone tell me how to edit the title of this thread- I'd just like FXRT capitalized.

It has a RP Tach/Fuel gauge. I'm keeping my eyes open for an original tachometer. There is a volt meter in the tank console, and the fuel level sending unit needs to be replaced anyway, so I'll tackle that when I have all the parts.

This looks similar to yours but the parts diagram only shows a pin, washer, & cotter pin

Done!
I made a call to a dude who knows whats up- he told me to unbolt the mount from the frame, remove it, and then rotate the piece with the pin in it 180*.
It was unbelievably tight, so I just used a punch and it came out with a few cautious strikes.
First real change. Check.
Ah, and I'm ready for that Thunderheader too. Oh, and does anyone know if this bracket was FXRD/P only- If so I'd like to keep it with the exhaust, so its potential new owner has 100% of the parts needed.
