Default 1992 fxrt

Good day,

I've recently acquired a FXRT. I'd like to fix a few things, and have come here to ask before my OEM Manual arrives.

- The radio doesn't work- Is the relay/fuse behind the head unit?

- The windshield gasket was deteriorating, what is commonly used to replace it?

- I have the optional light pods installed. Are the wires just run through the air vents? I'd like to remove them.

- What would be the best way to remove the FXRD exhaust?

Thank you,
Ian

From the wiring diagram, it looks like there 2 fuses behind the radio:

Red wire - Memory - 1 Amp
Yellow wire - Power - 5 Amp

nice bike! If you change anything keep the orig parts so you can return it to stock. If it were mine I'd do an exhaust an cam it an get all the bugs worked out an throw some new tires on it an roll.

Thanks fellas,
I ordered new Dunlop Elites, a Chrome Thunderheader and a (Used) colour-matched Tour Pak. I've been thinking about picking up a set of stock heads and sending them out to Branch. That, with an EV5 cam, and I think I'd be set.

98hotrodfatboy: For now I just want to get it out on the road, and rack on some miles before I get too deep. Black powder-coat for the wheels, crash-bar and lowers- maybe next winter. I have a FXDXT that could benefit from going into the camchest and going up to a 98'

Thank you Guinea, I'll check those out this weekend.

Lang, I'll keep everything, but I'm helping a buddy with my boards. The RD fetches a good price, and isn't original to the RT, so I'd consider letting it go.
I took the lowers off, they are in Brandywine- not two-tone.

Hey man, thanks again- I couldn't wait until the weekend to check. I got it working and was a bit surprised by the sound quality. I mean, for 25 year-old motorcycle speakers.

Now I gotta buy some tapes!

There is so much right with that bike. I think it should be one of the 50 that HD is going to come out with as was in the news recently.
