Ok. I'll make em 1.000 od.
Looks like enough room. If not, you can modify.
Pm your mailing address & I'll get em out this week-end

We have a lot of scrap 17-4 stainless , laying around the shop, I can make em & heat treat em.
Thanks Harold! I decided to get the Kuryakyn running board extensions to space the floor board out.

Only use tapered gaskets with ball ends, flat gaskets with flat ends.
I believe they are ball ends. They are similar to what the OEM head pipes are. I am using taper gaskets.

New (old) problem: The stripped out bolt is leaking.....

I had to take everything off and put a helicoil in. In order to 'do it right', I would have had to disassemble the transmission. Which isn't happening right now. So I installed the helicoil with the end cover in place. I don't thing I got the helicoil all the way into the transmission case, maybe 1/4", but I could torque the bolt to 19 lb/ft, so I've got my fingers crossed that will stop (or at least slow) the leak. I liberally covered the bolt with teflon tread sealant before I torqued it. No drips after an hour. But I'll see how it looks tomorrow morning.

I can see a Baker transmission in my future....

Well the Thunderheader install has been setback dealing with the leaking transmission bolt. I'm also thinking I should have went with a SuperTrapp or other 2-1. Has anyone looked down the 'muffler' on a Thunderheader? Not much in there to muffle the sound. I like loud, but not too loud. This looks like it's going to be LOUD.

I never took you as being a sensitive guy!
A TH really isn't LOUD, it is throaty and IMHO sounds better than any other 2-1. Don't give up on it just because you looked the gift horse in the mouth.
Besides, you sound like you need cheered up about now.

I , personally , love the sound of the TH.
Wish I had one on the low rider .
Good performance exhaust, from what I've read.
Real deep & throaty.

Ride Safe,
Harold

Well... I did ball like a little girl when I had my cat put down....

I'm pretty much committed to keeping the Thunderheader, so if it's too loud and obnoxious, I'll just treat it like my wife....

Deep and Throaty is what I like (ya know what I mean...)!

Just don't want the sound of straight pipes. My son's 883 sounded good with the Thunderheader, so I'm hoping my 1340 won't break the neighbors windows...

Hack, you probably needed to make a longer installer by grinding the end of a bolt to engage the tang of the heli-coil, I've installed them holes 2" deep, not wanting to disassemble what I was working on.

This is a good example of what I was talking about with the exhaust gaskets blocking the port, came across this repairing base gasket leaks on a bike last night.
