Default forward controls 06 Dyna

going to install forward controls on my 06 Street bob. I've read several articles stating that the inner and outer primary covers will fit together and create a "tunnel" hole that will not leak. I've read others that state some newer models don't create the tunnel and will leak. I'm not sure what is considered "newer" and was wondering if anybody could tell me if I need an actual plug to prevent leaking, or can I just install something cosmetic to hide the hole. any insight would be great!!

You may want to check in with the Dyna section for HD Forums. You'll probably get a better response from those guys.

Wtf is a 'Tunnel Hole'? If you're referring to the shift rod hole in the chain adjuster inspection cover, then it's an easy swap to a solid cover IF removable. If not, then leave the rod hanging out of the primary and simply connect the shift shaft to the forward control lever.
