Been riding my 96 King with the Cibie housing and Osram H4 bulb I mentioned above for a few weeks now. The combination throws out a nice bright low beam with a good wide pattern, plenty of cornering light, and high beam really throws the light down the road. The Osram bulb is stock wattage and of course has a more yellowish light compared to LED lights. Given the same H4 bulb wattage, the Cibie housing focuses the light better than the stock HD housing in my opinion. Overall I'm satisfied with the performance of the Cibie/Osram headlight combo.
I may have to try again, but the Cibie I received was a bit too big to fit the retaining ring on the Heritage. It may just have been that particular lamp or maybe I can grind the edge down a bit to make it fit. Shouldn't have to, though.
I'm currently running a "Candlepower" H4 headlamp, but it's 19 years old now, and needs replacing (the reflector is starting to cloud up). Candlepower no longer offers a 7" headlamp (the factory in Japan was inside the Fukashima radiation zone), and in six years they haven't sourced another 7" lamp. Not much market for 7" round H4 lamps anymore, apparently.

Uncle G. , What happened with the Cibie?
And Cibie passing lights?
I have a 99 FLSTC needing more light.
Thanks.
