Default Seat options- 1984 Evo FLHTC

After many years of me riding solo, my wife has decided to get back into riding on the back of Big Bertha. Trouble is, I have to scoot forward enough to allow her room with her back against the back rest. We did 150 miles today. She did pretty well, but by the time I got home I was near crippled.
There's plenty of women riding with their men that are bigger than my wife. I am 6' 200# she is 5'6" and about 170. I cannot see how the tour pack can be moved back, or the backrest relocated. Any way to improve on the early Evo baggers? Or is this just the way it's gonna be?
I am 65 and can MAYBE stretch out a little with highway pegs. I'd sure like to hear suggestions from any of you that have found a solution to this problem. I know the newer dressers probably allow for much bigger people. Problem is, I don't care for them and like what I have.

The next version of the tour pack/seat is slightly bigger. The back seat backrest is part of the tourpack. If you went with one of those seats and the tourpack back rest part, it might give you enough room. The frames are the same as what you have, just the seat and backrest are different. Try sitting on the next version (86-up) and see how it fits.

You could weld some extensions onto the brackets to move it back six inches then either paint them or send them to a chrome shop.

Some companies make tour pack relocation kits, to move the tour pack back a few inches. a quick google search will give you some info.

Neither would I.

I've got the same passenger back rest on my 93 FLHS. Yeah, it can be a bit cozy. But I've never had the back problems with my wife behind me.

Snuggle up a bit more?????

We used a Kuryakyn relocation kit to get the wife and me a bit more room.
I'm a little under you in size but ours wife's are pretty close.

It moved the tour pac back 2 inches and surprisingly made more room than we thought it might.

Now I don't think the one I used will work easily with your setup, the latter model tour pack Dr. Hess mentioned should UH I Think

he could move the tourpac back 6 inches and it wouldn't help. the back rest doesn't move with the tourpac it's attached to the passenger hand rails

That's why a latter model tour pac and seat was suggested

Looks like I will just leave it alone, as I really don't want to hack up this original bike. My wife wants to do some long distance touring....maybe time to invest in a 2nd bike. I am astonished at how little a clean low mileage evo or twinky dresser sells for around here. Bertha will remain a solo cruiser for now.
