It's clean unless there's a passage blocked I'm unaware of. Seems odd I don't know what I'm missing. I've rebuild dozens of carbs and jetted them never had an issue like this but this is also the first time I've ever had a Keihin CV. I'm open to suggestions. It has a lot of new parts, slide, cvp jets and needle.
Is it possible that your choke circuit has something to do with it. That would explain no change at idle with the screw and lack of power in the top.
It's fully closed and has to be used to start when cold. I did try a cold start today no choke. No go. It has a brand new cable on it. How can I check that it's actually fully seated when it's closed? I feel like when I put it back on I made sure it did but can't remember for sure now. With a 46 pilot and the enricher leaking of it was wouldn't it be running rich and not lean? I'm confused here. I replaced the slide and rubber diaphragm too when I did the needle and jets.
Kp, i wish i had more knowledge on that carb. I've never messed with one but if you think of the statement you made earlier "i turned the idle screw in all the way in and it idled fine" that right there should tell you that it's sucking fuel from somewhere..... You might have to take it back apart. And for what it's worth i thought the plugs were way too black (rich). I wish i could be of more help.... Sorry man....

No didn't replace the mixture oring. I looked at it last time it was apart it looked fine. I thought I was rich running before I pulled the plugs but I thought the plugs looked lean. Am I completely wrong on the plug reading? I'm still at a loss with the 4500 plus. I ended at 46 pilot due to coughing off idle. It used to cough hard off idle leaving stop signs. I'm not sure where am at now.
Thinking of what I've replaced on it. I've replaced everything except ignition box and coil but both test fine. With cam and good compression readings I don't see any reason why I shouldn't be pulling to rev limiter. I think I have a carb issue but I'm confused as to what it is. Also the float was set to 11mm.
Anyone got a HSR42 on the shelf they want to sell? I mean what else can it be? It has to be carb related it should pull had to rev limiter right?
Not so sure the 3010 can pull past 5300 rpm. It's a good cam but not for that range. the 3020 would do a better job but the Woods W6 would out do the 3020.... for a cam only upgrade.... If you're going to replace the carb the best thing you can do is go to an S&S E..... It's easier to tune..
