I know you checked for an intake leak with carb cleaner, but what you describe sounds like an intake manifold leak. I would check, or maybe just replace gaskets, and check condition of manifold. Good luck.
Carb does not back fire and no leaks. It just misses at idle when hot.

OK all,, I ran out of things to change out so I installed new intake seals and not just no but hell no it still not fixed. I am really loosing faith.
Problem: Does not want to idle and rear cyl exhaust makes a FLUFF, FLUFF sound after QUICK throttle TWIST. Take it off idle and run thru the gears it's a rocket.. WHAT UP???

A half a bottle. A full bottle (pint?) treats about 10 gallons.

When I changed the intake seals the ports looked pretty clean. My thought was possibly a sticky valve and sea foam. BUT my compression check on both cyl were dead exact 208 lb. dang if I know.
My wife agreed the FLUFF sound was from rear cyl exhaust..??

Is there an exhaust leak? That can make some strange sounds. With the motor idling, try blowing some smoke around the exhaust pipes up near the head. See if the smoke moves in unexpected ways.

I lit a Cuban cigar and blew the smoke up around the exhaust , kinda looked like the smoke on one side was blowing away but had to run to the bath rm to puke up my supper from the cigar, Geesh.
Ill try a new ex gasket tomorrow if I live thru the nite.
