You can do it with the ones that have the tensioner bolt coming out the back of the swing arm too.
My friend does his like that.

What Hackd said will get you there.
Especially this part "If you don't have the FSM, get it."
FSM = Factory Service Manual

Good Luck WP

When the manual seems vague or just missing something, those youtube videos can help fill in the blanks, and of course, the guys on the forum that don't just give you a hard time, but you can ignore those. You can also look up parts illustrations on a few sites, like Ronnie's HD, can figure out how parts fit together from that sometimes: http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....artsfinder.htm

One other thing to consider.

If you are taking off the wheel to change tires then you need to repack the bearings at the same time.
You should repack the bearings every time you change tires.

Use Harley wheel bearing grease.

That should always be your starting point! If you simply ask us "how do I remove the rear wheel" not many of us are about to sit down and write you an entire service manual chapter from scratch. If you ask us a specific question relating to a particular problem, having got stuck, then we can get our teeth into that.

Of course the FSM is compulsory reading during those long sleepless nights, when you are stuck on just what to do next!

I don't have the expectation for a whole chapter,maybe a quick summery that makes the manual more easier to understand. Besides someone may figured a better way than what the manual mentions or a quick tip that I may not have thought of. Sometimes need someone to clarify the instructions,that why I ask the way I do. So I do apologize if I came off as expecting a whole chapter written.

Btw I did try to find a youtube vid to explain the process,but none fit the exact model I'm working with. I tried to punch in any keywords that fit an Evo touring model and pan up nothing. So,sometimes youtube fails me.
