Need to find a gas tank gasket boot...can you help?
I need to find a gas tank gasket boot for my 1984 FXRT Sport Glide. I have been looking but can't find one. It is factory part number 61112-82. It is number 28 in the attached diagram.
If I can't source the real thing does anyone have a suggestion for what I can use to fill that void. Thanks in advance for your help!
Even though they call it a boot, isn't it a large grommet? If so I have some large grommets at the shop. I you can give me the inside and outside diameters and the thickness I might be able to help you.... I can check in the morning....

Have you asked your dealer to do a nationwide search to see if any dealerships have one in their stock room?
The hole the grommet goes into is 2 1/2 inches wide. The grommet needs to sit at least 3/8" above the panel to fill in the gap. If you have something like that it would be great. If not my second plan will be to do what Texas suggested. Thanks guys.
