Now that's funny to hear. I had them go over the 91last fall and after that I can't find neutral worth a damn. I thought it was a poorly adjusted clutch. I'm about to put the new cycle electric alternator kit in. What should I use to get smoother shifting in the primary and tranny?
Well, ask 20 of us and you'll get 23 answers. In my personal experience, as I stated above, a full synthetic ATF in the primary like Mobil1 ATF or Royal Purple ATF, and Mobil SHC-630 in the trans.

Yeah sorry I missed your recommendation before in the thread. I think I'll try your suggested oils but have asked just to see what others are using in case I can't find the shc-630. Tractor supply might have it around here.
Another question. I realize that atf is good for many miles in cars. How often should it be changed if used in our primary's

I just change it per the recommendations for the primary. Every other motor oil change. Is there no Grainger Supply in New Hampshire? If you can't find the SHC-630, one of the Redline products would be my next choice.

Never seen a grainger around here. We have a couple other places I'll check like tractor supply and runnings.
Is there a preferred vicosity in the redline products?
KP, I haven't priced it lately. I still have a bunch in stock. It wasn't cheap when I bought it. Fortunately, a quart lasts a while. I bet the HD gear lube isn't much cheaper.
For the redline stuff, I would check their web site or give them a call. They basically have 2 main gear lubes, MT90 and MTL. I think either would be fine for our bikes. I would probably lean MT90.
