Well, verdict is in. It is officially bent. It's on it's way back to dennis Kirk and it looks like I'll be going with the plan b approach of new oem springs and the filed down ultima pawl

It gives me time for some other upgrades

Well that sucks! At least you had an idea you had a defective one versus putting it back together and not knowing why it was acting up.

Got the new springs from Harley and reassembled the ultima pawl. I took the trans to my buddies shop yesterday for reassembly.

On another note.... I got my heads back from the porter today and back on my dyna. The intake manifold is very tight and needs to be trimmed more. That's where I gave up before dinner. I will try and get the dyna done by Tuesday at the latest and the softail will probably have to wait until I get back from California

sounds good... I always send my intake along with the heads so I don't have to mess with the fit.....

Safe trip man....

I got the tranny back and it is sitting by next to the bike. My house got somewhat struck by lightning last Friday so I have been dealing with all of that ****. But while I was waiting on the ac guys to do their thing and at&t I used the time to reassemble the dyna.

And it all went back together nicely, but then the very last thing, the quick disconnect gas fitting started leaking. Damn!

Had to leave for California

You know, even though these quick disconnects are convenient they are also a pita.... I'll never use one... Glad to hear it's back together. When's the maiden voyage?

The quick disconnect fuel connector is oem on the new bikes. It's more of a coupling but none the less it's leaking

I am gone until July 1st ish. Depending on my work schedule, a few days after that.

Is your QD brass or plastic?
Mine is brass and has been trouble-free (and very helpful) for years.
