I plan to buy one as well when I find a cheap used one on eBay. Can you get this in without removing the primary cover? Doesn't look like it but wasn't sure if it still could be done.

Yep you gotta remove the outer primary to install an M6.
It was in the bike when I bought it,I replaced the shoe when I did my build,and it wasn't really worn but it's cheap enough. This is the part number from J&P Cycle (6001008) That is what I've been running for the tensioner.

When I blew up my EVO at 89k miles the primary chain and sprockets looked great and the shoe had no grooves in it. Are you running enough oil in your primary or are you just super heavy on the throttle?
