Flush all your oil lines and blow out all oiling ports... Also tear apart the oil pump..

Now is the perfect time for an S&S 96" Stroker.....

That's what I installed..... 115/109
AHH, yeah there has been some rough riding. AT this point I am unsure how repairable these cases would be. Now to show my ignorance, is the S&S 96" Stroker a complete new engine, or guts to repair this one? At this point I am unsure if I want to dump 4-7,000 in to a new motor. I would love to rebuild, if not my only other option is to try and find a good place for a good used motor. Thanks for any help

Cool!! I was afraid that since so much was shaved from the insides, that it would make the cases unusable. I look forward to seeing the pics..and Thanks so much, you do not know how much your response has encouraged me!

In your pics I really couldn't see damage to the case other than where the crank pin nut shaved the side of the case.... Took mine way down... Still usable. Take it to a local indy to press in a new crank. Get a professional opinion...

Thanks, I thought that shaving made them unusable we have a guy here in town that both the HD shop and the smaller shops all swear by for doing case work..I will try to run it by him. Thanks Again!!!!!!

That sounds great. Now, I want to make sure I understand correctly. You put the 96 stroker kit inside your old cases? What did you have to do to make the cases useable? Sorry for all the questions!! Thanks for the help!

S&S sells stroker kits and complete motors. I suspect a complete motor will be cheaper, but if you want to keep your original motor number, I think that's fixable. It will take a bit of TIG welding, maybe a fabricated sleeve or two, boring, etc., but anything is fixable if you try hard enough and/or throw enough money at it. Also, there is an upper limit on how big of a stroker kit that HD cases can handle, and I don't remember if 96 is over that or not.

The MoCo doesn't do the rebuild/exchange thing anymore for us, from what I hear, but doesn't S&S? Do they still provide a new motor with the same (old) numbers on it, like the MoCo did?

I was just reading that S&S does the rebuilds. I was going to check into it. Truthfully, If my cases are still usable I would be happy either way, that is back stock or do the 96 kit. It would be nice to do something like a big bore, but right now if going back stock would be cheaper I would do that just to get her up and going again!! I am not after a hot rod, Before the bike was to cammed up and not fun to ride. Great Bar hoping bike, but to much of a hot rod for enjoyable rides with the wife.

Like I said earlier, I didn't see any other damagedTill I zoomed in... You must have run that a lot before the case broke....Probably the best thing to do at this point is an S&S V111. Yea Sorry I didn't see it earlier..... That case is shot...

That is what I was afraid of!! I am unsure if I want to drop for an S&S right now. As this bottom end is toast, I may look into a used motor...but that is an iffy thing in itself, finding a decent one from a good source at a decent price. I would not know where to begin looking for one!
