Engine removal question
It is a quite impressive the first time you hear it! When they are having races there, you can hear them many many miles away!!!
I know I have bounced back and forth quite a bit with each bit of info and advice I have gotten, but this shows how lost I have been on what to do with this motor.
I have decided that I am going to pass on the rebuild, as I may end up with as much expense as a new motor. I am not going to jump on the first used motor I find, as it may end up costing me in the long run as much as a new motor. I have a couple more obligations to pay off then I will pop for a new motor, BUT, I am still going to keep an eye open for that really good used motor that I just can not pass up in the mean time. Thanks for all the help!!!!!

Sorry for your troubles and I hope you score a good replacement motor. Meantime, this would be a good time to turn your attention to the rest of the bike. A full service, clean and touch up paint the frame now that the motor is out....you get the idea. Make sure that new motor has a "home" worthy of it. Good luck.
A friend in Tulsa Ok has bought a couple of salvage bikes for parts in times gone by. A motor for one and it did well. May take some time searching and of course all are as is.
