Honestly, if it's not in this years budget then maybe you should wait a little longer and do it once. The fever will hit and it can get very expensive... Believe me I think I'm on my 4th or 5th build......
Sounds like the EV13 or a Vthunder is a perfect fit for your riding style. Had 2 of 4 Harley B's collapse in the 89" from abuse by a Woods W6H
I just had a lifter failure after approximately 35,000 miles. Had Harley B's and Wood W6. When it goes back together I am going with S&S lifters and I'm going to try the EV13. That W6 gave great power above 2700 - 3000 rpm, but I think I'd like to have a little more oomph at lower rpms. I spend a lot more time running between 2000 - 3000 than I do over 3000.

ya that's pretty much my range, why im between the ev13 and ev27, and they seem very lose to ea other
I bought my Fxr over the past winter, it is amazing to me how a 92 Fxr stayed all stock all these years ran great but had a lot of gear whine ( go back to my first post new Evo owner) was worried that it was Ina bearing ready to go, read a lot about when Harley switched to Ina in 92 but nothing was clear . Went in and it had stock n cam and Torrington, that's all I wanted to know. I put back in a mild Andrews 23 with steel breather with 55 shim, the bike has less gear whine, did this as temporary. Base gaskets weep so I am going to have it redone. Scotts set up sounds tempting, I will tell him to hold the bearing, take it easy just kidding. This was my first motorcycle cam job and all the things I read said replace Ina to Torrington, never saw replace Torrington to Torrington ! Next time it will be replaced, but I am still gonna ride it like I stole it!!! The Chevy lifter thing was me saying u can spend 20$ a lifter to 100$, I never used them but I know some that have, and yes they were in twin cams!!
I replaced my stock Torrington cam bearing with an upgraded Torrington bearing at "around 15,000 miles." The upgraded Torrington lasted another 115,000 miles ( when I sold it.)
The difference in the 2 Torrington bearings is the number of rollers. The more rollers, the more load it can handle.

Are u saying there is different grades of the Torrington bearing or did u replace an Ina to a torrington? B138
