Mr Bronson thanks for your imput.....first like I said it's an fxr aftermarket frame so now you've seen one like this, it's for real. Also I never said fxr came with a wide glide front end but when this bike was home built that's what they wanted or what was available cheap and that's what's on the bike. It's a custom build that's what I know. The last owner (who had it built) also told me first gear is taller for whatever reason...it's a 1340, crank case is aftermarket as is carb and oil pump. What I don't know is if its stock, stroked or cammed or any combination thereof. Attached are a few photos for your consideration. ...Also like our bike, it inspires
I wouldn't worry too much about the shocks for now, they might just be as they as be. Work on getting it fired up first. Time is on your side now, steady at it and you'll have a nice ride there.
The angle shocks run at affects a lot of things, but it is not necessarily bad if the angle is different than expected. There is a lot of math involved. Those shocks look like a standard FLH-ish shock and are probably just fine for that bike at that angle.
Agreed shocks not that important right now, this shock may or may not clear bottom shock bracket and or caliper. Had a little time today so here's where I'm at
