If I owned this bike, and I could prove it really was a pre-production factory Springer, I would want all the $$$$ I could get. Who did they build it for? When exactly? MoCo historical letter? Hell even a pic of the guy with the bike back then.
Well I read the article on it...it was built for an employee,that fender could be oem but not for that size wheel. The aftermarket link fender is a replica of a real oem Springer fender,fat tire not a 21" rail. Looks like hell,agree with Omaha on that.Nice dent too !!
So is the fender real ? Could possibly be,if it is,someone head was up their### thinking it would be a good idea. I love Springer but this is the worst I've seen but it's probably just a matter of putting the right size fatty on the front..
Without some real provenance, I'm not buying it (the story, that is). The springer front end was available as a genuine accessory right from Harley-Davidson, and that front fender is an aftermarket fender that was sold by Custom Chrome back in the day.
